太陽光でUVEPROMの消去はできるのか？-2 結果のまとめ
【要旨】
UVEPROM(紫外線消去型EPROM ： Ultra-Violet Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory)を消去するためには、250nm（2500Å）程度、かつ一定以上のエネルギーを持った紫外線照射が必要であり、通常は、UVEPROMイレーサーや殺菌灯を用いる。
私は、UVEPROMイレーサー、殺菌灯を所有していなかったため、太陽光で消去が可能であるか検証した。
データ書き込み済みの2764（UVEPROM）2個を、窓ガラス越しに太陽光に晒したところ、13日間（合計照射時間147時間）で消去が完了し、ブランクチェックをパス、書き込みが可能な状態となった。
太陽光によりUVEPROMの消去が可能であることが示されたが、消去に要する時間は、緯度による紫外線量、天候などに大きく左右されると推察される。また、今回使用したUVEPROMは8KBと容量が小さなものであり、容量が大きなものでは、消去までにさらに時間を要する可能性もある。
UVEPROMイレーサーを利用すると、複数個のUVEPROMを10分程度で消去することが可能であり、実用性という面では、太陽光照射よりもUVEPROMイレーサーの導入を強く推奨する。
【Abstract】
In order to erase UV EPROMs (Ultra-Violet Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory), it is necessary to irradiate them with ultraviolet light at around 250 nm (2500 Å) and with a certain level of energy. In general, UVEPROM erasers or germicidal lamps is used to erase UV EPROMs.
Since I did not have a UVEPROM eraser or a germicidal lamp, I verified whether it was possible to erase the data with sunlight.
Two 2764 (UVEPROM) with data written on them were exposed to sunlight through a window glass, and the erasure was completed in 13 days (total exposure time: 147 hours), and they passed the blank check and became ready for writing.
Although it was shown that UVEPROM can be erased by sunlight, the time required for erasure is estimated to be greatly affected by the amount of ultraviolet rays and weather conditions depending on the latitude. In addition, the UVEPROM used in this study has a small capacity of 8KB, and it may take more time to erase a large capacity one.
The UVEPROM eraser can erase multiple UVEPROMs in about 10 minutes, and I strongly recommend the use of the UVEPROM eraser rather than the sunlight irradiation for practical use.
【方法】
8KB全域に渡ってデータ書き込み済の2764（UVEPROM）を2つ用意した。ラップ、ガラスを介さず、直接日光に当てることが望ましいと考えたが、風雨よりEPROMが故障する可能性があるため、2764を窓際（ガラス窓、UVフィルター等なし）に設置し、初日は3時間、2日目以降は6時から18時までの12時間日光を照射した。
ROMライタ（プログラマ）でバイナリダンプを行い、"FF"となっている箇所が占める割合を消去率と定義し、1日毎に記録した。
8192KB全てが"FF"となり、ROMライタのブランクチェックをパスすることを確認し、消去完了とした。
消去までの時間を左右する要因として、天候をあわせて記録した。
